Hazard Communication in Construction Environments
Course Overview:
Chemicals present a wide range of health hazards to personnel in addition to physical hazards such as corrosion and flammability. In a work environment where such chemicals can be found, it is imperative that related information is thoroughly disseminated among their workforce members that could come in contact.
This course focuses on understanding the various types of hazardous chemicals, GHS labeling, scenarios where exposure could occur, safety equipment and the handling of spills all within the context of a construction environment. Although WHMIS is the Canadian standard for this information, this course includes special consideration for the construction industry. Course Topics
