Defensive Driving - 3 Demerit Reduction Program
This comprehensive Defensive Driving program has the Government of Alberta's approval for the removal of 3 demerits points from an Alberta driver's license; this is contingent upon the final mark being at least 80%.
The program is designed to be engaging for the learner and integrates interactive exercises.
Once complete, the learner can register their information at DriversRegistration.ca. A government notice-of-completion form will be mailed to you within 7 business days. The notice-of-completion form together with your online Defensive Driving program certificate of completion is then brought to a local registry office in the province of Alberta. Alberta residents are eligible for a 3 demerit reduction once every 2 years.
Non-Alberta residents can take this program, but they will not qualify to receive the 3 demerit point reduction; they only receive an online course completion certificate.
approx. 6 hours
Students answer questions on the course material and are required to obtain a minimum passing mark of 80%. The student will have two additional opportunities to pass if required.
Alberta residents who achieve the required passing mark will receive an Alberta course completion certificate. This certificate, together with the government notice-of-completion form received in the mail 7 business days after registering at DriversRegistration.ca, can be taken into any registry in Alberta to receive a 3 demerit point reduction.
Non Alberta residents can download and print a course completion certificate online immediately upon successful completion of the program.
