H2S Online Course

Rigging and Slinging Safety course

Course Overview:

One of the most toxic and flammable gases, H2S demands respect and awareness on the jobsite. This H2S training course is highly suited for anyone that may be in proximity to work areas where the gas is found and therefore needs to know about emergency response procedures and related protective equipment.

** Please note, employees should consult with their employers to understand exactly what level of H2S training is required for their role.

This poisonous gas has claimed countless lives across several industries including energy, agriculture, pulp and fertilizer. H2S can be found in storage vessels and pits, tunnels and of course, during drilling and production of various oil and gas products.
Extreme precautionary measures are warranted due to its toxicity, extreme flammability and its ability to deaden one's sense of smell.

This I-CAB recognized online H2S is  course is organized into 16 sections. Overall, it covers the basics of H2S hazard assessment, related equipment, work planning as well as safety procedures and emergency response measures. It also delves into the H2S hazard control hierarchy, which outlines the various measures that can be taken including hazard elimination followed by engineering, administrative controls and PPE.

The course concludes with an emphasis on H2S emergency management and first aid for exposure to the gas.
